Unser Standort

Angelika Scheer, geboren 1976, fast waschechte Leipzigerin, studierte an der Hochschule für Musik und Theater „Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ Klavierpädagogik als Hauptfach bei Frau Prof. Helgeheide Schmidt, ist seit 20 Jahren als Korrepetitorin beim Max-Klinger-Chor tätig und gibt als Freiberuflerin seit 2011 Klavier-Crashkurse für erwachsene Anfänger in Leipzig und Umgebung.

Zehn Jahre bis zum Oberstufenabschluss war sie Schülerin der Musikschule J. S. Bach in Leipzig, versuchte sich nach dem Abitur ein Jahr lang in der Schulmusik für Gymnasialstufe, bevor sie 1996 an die Musikhochschule wechselte. Nach dem Diplom schlug sie einen zweiten Bildungsweg als examinierte Altenpflegerin ein. In diesem Beruf war sie bis Dezember 2010 in einem privaten mobilen Pflegedienst tätig. Nach der Geburt ihrer beiden Kinder kehrte sie ins Leipziger Musikleben zurück, engagiert sich neben Klingers in weiteren Leipziger Chören (z. B. Leipziger Lehrerchor), übernimmt seit 2012 die Probenkorrepetition für die Mitsingkonzerte von “Leipzig singt”, gestaltet Klaviernachmittage in Senioreneinrichtungen und unterrichtet Schüler von 5 bis 79 Jahren.

Girls and female choir of the city of Leipzig

The Schola Cantorum Leipzig's girls and female choir has 80 singers between the ages of 12 and over 30. The choir belongs to Germany's best and is internationally renowned, not least of all due to the high level of musical quality demanded, its rigorous youth development programs, many concert tours abroad as well as a variety of awards won in acclaimed competitions. The choir is especially well versed in the presentation of renaissance period equal voices, a-cappella compositions as well as contemporary pieces. It also regularly works together with German orchestras on choral symphonic works. The choir's vast repertoire includes not only the German romantic works of composers such as Mendelssohn, Schumann, Brahms or Rheinberger, but the ensemble has also made important explorations into French music from the turn of the century. One important key component of the choir's work is the interpretation of contemporary music.

The girls and female choir has been a part of presentations of great oratory works such as Bach's "Passion of St. Mathew", Mendelssohn's "Paulus" and Orff's "Carmina Burana" and has given concerts in Leipzig's most important churches and concert halls. In 1999, the ensemble arranged the official ceremony for the Federal Republic of Germany's 50th birthday in Berlin's Reichstag and 2015 saw the choir sing for Chancellor Angela Merkel as part of the 80th German Welfare Day. The quality of the choirs is attested to by their successful participation in numerous national and international competitions as well as manifold radio, television and CD recordings.

Welcome to the choirs of the Schola Cantorum Leipzig!

The Schola Cantorum Leipzig was founded in 1963 as a youth choir and has been working with the sponsorship of the city of Leipzig since 1982. Today, the Schola Cantorum Leipzig provides musical guidance and training for around 300 children, youth and young adults; singing and making music at all levels from earliest training to the so called "spatzen choirs", children's, girls and female choir through to the chamber choir.
